The Unnamed Student Group was a closed student group in Nicosia in 2009, consisting of young people who frequented Phaneromeni Square. It was formed following the police crackdown on a street party in the square on October 12, 2009. It was self-organized and used the Agrammata library for its meetings.

My motivation for starting these meetings stemmed from the events that took place on October 10, 2009. For most of us, it was one of our first real encounters with the police. The incident was shocking and an eye-opening experience. To a certain extent, we realized how much hidden injustice is embedded in the law, how evident this injustice is in the way it is enforced, and how much power the police wield as a result.¹⁾
